DESCRIPTION:
The first thing people normally notice about Roscoe is the fact that he manages to entice fear without doing much at all. There is an air to the young man that warns most people to a degree that he is a force to be reckoned with. He's taller than most young men and therefore, hard to ignore when passing on the street. Not that anyone could in the first place. When Roscoe waslks down a sidewalk he owns it and without reason people get out of his way to let him pass. Call it instinctual, but strangers can tell Roscoe isn't friendly in the least. And without much thought he conveys exactly that. Despite his height, the young man is far from lanky. His build is somewhat thick due to muscle, giving him a slight thug appearance. His confidence keeps him from ever slouching or slumping in the slightest. Roscoe stands tall with the ego of a fearless and reckless man.
There is something sleek about the way Roscoe looks. It's rare to find him outside of his uniform and looking shabby. Living alone on a police salary might give him a little extra spending money, because he is always wearing designer brands. Roscoe prides himself in looking kept together and well groomed. Especially in his favorite red shirt and black slacks. Often people can see him wandering around the town going into the shabbiest of areas, but still looking like he stepped off a men's fashion runway. Deeper than just the fabrics he wears, Roscoe has a superiority complex, something that translates in his appearance. Aside from dressing like he is better than everyone else, he acts like it too. Often he will talk down to those he feels is lower than him with his trademark snarl. Of course he can smile and lighten up when in the company of those he feels is worth his time.
PERSONALITY:
The art of intimidation is far from easy to master. Too often people believe they are tough only for opponents to discover they are all 'talk'. Thugs demand respect without really giving any reason or motivation for their weaker annoyances to hand it over. Few can pull off the air of menance that promises extreme bodily harm unless they get exactly what they want. Roscoe is one of those proud few. Aside from looking like someone who could easily tear an apendage off someone, he has a temper that just may allow him to do so. When someone owes a boss money Roscoe finds he doesn't need to say much to get that person to pay up. Maybe crack his knuckles or glare and suddenly they have found the money they were missing. When he does need to speak, he is far from eloquent though he gets the job done. He could be easily considered smarter than his thug companions, he is still of only average intelligence.
Much of Roscoe's self worth is wrapped up in his appearance and his reputation. His superiority over people comes from how he can put fear into any man. He thrives off feeling that power and will often pick a fight with someone weaker to get his fix. Of course he is extremely self conscious, making sure to wear the nicest clothes to look refined. He spends hours in the gym not only to stay in shape for work, but to feel acceptable. Roscoe has quite the problem with those who do not share his philosophy. Overweight people seem to be one of his many annoyances. Of course insults water down to lame titles shut as 'fat boy'. However, he isn't afraid to let his fists do the talking when he feels intellectually beaten. Likewise, if he feels someone does fit within the spectrum of who he deems worthy, they should naturally gravitate towards him. Men should admire him and try to befriend him. Beautiful women should fawn and scramble to get with a 'class act' such as himself.
Surprisingly the officer does have a sense of humor. But don't expect him to be the life of the party with knock knock jokes. The majority of Roscoe's amusement comes from seeing people afraid or making them uncomfortable. Especially those who owe his boss money. Despite his affinity for canines, one could swear he was more like a cat by the way he enjoys a good game of cat and mouse. The more he messes with a victim the more amused he becomes. Hard to joke with a guy who's humor is wrapped up in sadism. And worse off, Roscoe is easily wound up. God forbid if anyone tries to joke the same way with him. Being fearless to a fault and always looking for a fight, Roscoe has no qualms about taking on the world. It wouldn't be unusual for him to challenge a whole room of people one by one simply because he felt slighted. Few rise to the occassion though and those that do often spend the night in the hospital.
Once his temper starts going there has to be a safe outlet for the man or someone will get hurt. He's the type to see red over little things. Few things can calm him down...or more appropriately shorten the leash on him. Mainly his boss is the only person he listens to. No not the comissioner or the commander...his other boss. If that man says it's time to go well then it's time to go. No questions asked. Roscoe has a lot of respect for his boss. The only other people Roscoe gives a damn about other than himself is his boss and his coworker. Now, the second thug Roscoe typically partners with is like a brother to him. Roscoe is extremely protective of him probably because that's his brother. If you mess with Roscoe's brother, then you will have Roscoe to deal with. And heaven help anyone stupid enough to piss off Roscoe. His spite and need for vengence is as bad as his temper. If you owe him blood then you can beat he will come to collect.
HOMETOWN: New York City, New York
FAMILY MEMBERS:
Desoto Pinscher {Brother}
Rosario Pinscher {Mother}
Dominick Pinscher {Father}
HISTORY:
Teen pregnancies hardly ever have a magical happy ever after attached to their endings. And Roscoe was just a product of that statistic. His mother came from a traditional Hispanic background, who got swept away by her first true love. They were in love and would always be together. And at fifteen a baby only sealed that love concretely. A baby would only strengthen their bonds, after all how could a family with the one you love tear it apart? Unfortunately love didn't pay the bills or feed the baby. Roscoe spent the first years of his life in a dingy cockaroach infested apartment in South Bronx. It was far from Rosario's dream of a happy family home with a white picket fence. Roscoe's father Dominick spent most of his time working and when that income fell short, other side jobs that were far from legal. Crime paid the Pinscher's bills, not love.
In fact love wasn't really in the equation in their household. Very early on Roscoe learned to keep quiet during the day because his dad was sleeping for his night job and there would be hell to pay if he woke up. Then when his mother came home from work to switch off with her husband, she wasn't really in the mood to deal with the young boy. There was no holding and hugging, mom had to make dinner and clean after a long day. There was no playing with dad, Roscoe's dad didn't want to have anything to do with him. It was clear he resented the child and blamed him for his miserable life. This continued for a few years until Rosario got pregnant again with a little boy. Dominick was furious about the new addition to their small family since he was already struggling to feed one tiny mouth.
Not that Roscoe would share his memories with anyone, but he does remember his mother and father fighting throughout her pregnancy. He would be gone for days at a time and his work would call looking for him. It wasn't long until he lost his job and was out all night. When Dominick did grace the household, Rosario was always torn between yelling at him and begging him to stay. It wasn't long after Desoto's birth that Dominick took off for good. Luckily Rosario didn't fall apart, she didn't have the luxury of staying home in bed to cry. Instead she got another job and left the boys with a neighbor for most of the day. From early on the relationship between Roscoe and Desoto was determined. They were partners in crime. Ask any of the caretakers in the building, the two were terrors together. But Roscoe being older, was always a protective shadow behind his younger brother. The two were inseperable when school started as well.
Inner city schooling was far from easy. Especially when children are automatically at the bottom of the totem poll because of their age. Roscoe wasn't a born boxer, there were a few afterschool bullies that stole from him for years. He learned to avoid them and forget his wallet at home when he could. Once he reached the end of elementary school, he had enough. Mostly because the bullies had turned to Desoto now as well. Roscoe got in his first fight at ten and surprisingly held his own for a while before walking home with a black eye and bleeding nose. He wasn't ashamed at losing the fight because he had learned getting hit hurt, but only for a little while. As he grew Roscoe became a better fighter, especially with Desoto at his side who was cut from the same cloth. By middle school they had became the bullies. And it was then Roscoe learned the power of fear.
Kids would move out of his way in the hallways, give him respect automatically, and most importantly they never messed with him or his brother. Roscoe joined the football team to bulk up just as he hit his growing spurt. By freshman year he was one of the most intimidating men within the school. Slowly, he got used to how fear affected people. It wasn't enough. During school he could enjoy this false power status he had gained from his peers, but in the outside world he was nobody. Senior year he decided to join the police academy and did so after graduation. He was a good cop physically, but never had the heart of a good cop. Roscoe was easily what one could call a crooked cop. Men in the precint naturally didn't take to him very well. Not that Roscoe cared. It wasn't long after joining NYPD that he recieved the letter.
Little did he know his character had already awakened. He had figured it was just his conscience, relaying what he wanted. It took Roscoe some convincing but finally he agreed to come to this tiny town. He joined the police force here though the quiet town of Memory is far from the fast pace city of New York. It didn't take Roscoe long to become involved with the exciting underground world of crime. Like father like son.
DISNEY CHARACTER: Roscoe
ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTES: Roscoe can turn into a full grown Doberman Pinscher and communicate with canines.
DESCRIPTION: Roscoe's personality isn't a far stretch from his canine counterpart. So what one wants to do, the other typically wants to do as well. Roscoe's spirit was awakened slowly over his high school years. What began as a nagging voice in the back of his mind grew to a whole different persona. Though not that different when one takes away the whole dog aspect. Both love to fight and get a certain satisfaction from seeing someone else in pain. Roscoe doesn't even see his spirit as another soul, just an extension of himself.
