SHERE ARTHUR CAINE
FULL NAME: Shere Arthur Caine
NICK NAME: Shere
AGE: 26
GRADE OR OCCUPATION: Physical Education teacher and Fencing instructor at Classic Academy
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
FACE CLAIM: Eddie Redmayne
EYE COLOR: Light blue
HAIR COLOR: Dark red
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: 5'11" and slim, 150 lbs
DESCRIPTION: Shere is tall and slim, and walks with ease and a certain grace. His movements are lithe and dance-like, fluid like a jungle cat's. He has dark red hair that is cut short but is often a bit a shaggy, keen blue eyes and freckles sprinkled across his nose. His lips are full and a bit too wide for his face, making his jaw look disproportionally large. His hands are big but nimble-fingered, his arms lightly toned from his job as Fencing instructor at the Academy.
PERSONALITY: Shere is not an easy man to get along with. He doesn't associate well with people on purpose, preferring to be on his own, or is completely rude and manipulative when he does have to interact with co-workers or others. He's not particularly interested in his job and doesn't enjoy working with children, but in order to play out his plot, he has to find the man cub. What better way than to work in this cartoon school? To sum up this aspect: Shere basically despises humans, but will tolerate them when necessary. And by tolerate, he means look-for-ways-to-manipulate-them-to-fit-his-own-purposes.
He does, however, and surprisingly, care for animals and their rights quite a lot. He has done his part in the past of protesting furs used in fashion, throwing red paint at fashion shows and getting arrested more than once for his less-than-peaceful protests. Violent by nature, Shere will result to settling things with a fight, and not always an entirely fair one, either. He believes in winning at all costs rather than fighting fair. But in order to keep his job, Shere reigns in his tiger-like temper, and his fists (and teeth and claws).
To round off his completely "charming" nature, Shere is also incredibly egotistical. Full of himself and self-confident to fault, if his other personality traits didn't scare off company, his self-assurance will. But there is, perhaps indeed, a certain charm to the otherwise offending Shere in that the way he keeps to himself labels him "mysterious". For even though he's confident and egotistical, he's not boastful. The confidence creates a certain air about him, the mystery of the way he keeps to himself intriguing. He would almost be enigmatic if it weren't for his utter disdain for most people.
HOMETOWN: Bangalore, India, but then New York City
FAMILY MEMBERS: Father, Arthur Caine
Mother, Alexandra Caine
HISTORY: Shere was born the only child to Arthur and Alexandra Caine, an easily amused and socially-conscious couple from southern England. A few years into their marriage, Arthur and Alexandra were seized by the idea that India was absolutely the place to live in a revival of England's love of the former "Jewel in the Crown", and so they moved to Bangalore. There Alexandra gave birth to their first and only son, and as they loved the culture of India, named him after the first friend they made in the country: Shere. Shere's middle name was taken from his father, though, just for their English sake.
Shere grew up in Bangalore, the richest city in India (which ws fitting because the Caines were very rich). It wasn't bad that he remembered, in fact, the handful of years he spent in India were amongst his best memories, and just as soon as he plays out his plot, Shere plans to return. Though he won't be able to return to his childhood home: it burned down along with four other houses in the summer of his twelfth year, forcing the Caines to move back to England and instilling a terrible fear of fire in Shere.
Back in England, the Caines were again struck with wanderlust and moved the family to New York City. There Shere remained, going to school, coming home, doing his homework and then going to bed. He rarely deviated from this schedule, making no friends and gathering a reputation in middle school as a "freak" or "loner". Shere didn't mind this label in the slightest, as he didn't much care for people anyway and how disgusting and thoughtless they could be.
When he reached high school age, Shere received a letter personally addressed to him from an academy in the middle-of-nowhere Maine. The return address on the envelope said the town was called "Memory", which Shere laughed at at the time, thinking it utterly ridiculous. Nevertheless he opened the letter, giving the page with the offer to attend the school to his parents. He tossed the letter afterwards onto his dresser and didn't think about it again for days.
It wasn't until a week or so later when he was cleaning his room that Shere even remembered the letter from Classic Academy. He looked in the envelope again (though he can't recall what possessed him at the time to do so) to find another page, one he hadn't seen before. This letter was handwritten and spoke about things oddly specific to only Shere. It didn't mention his family or his home in New York - only Shere, and his personal past, and... And some things that he had only suspected of himself but never dared to think outright. It was this other letter that made Shere decide to attend the Academy. He had to find out how they knew so much about him.
And apparently they knew much more about him than even he realized.
Classic Academy did its job, and it did it well. Through their careful curriculum and hints and guidance, Shere discovered his existence was merely host to the villainous tiger Shere Khan from The Jungle Book. His character awakened inside of him, and now the only thing Shere can think about is playing out his plot... Only this time, Mowgli won't live.
DISNEY CHARACTER: Shere Khan from The Jungle Book
ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTES: Shere Khane and Shere Caine's personalities are precisely alike before and since the character has awakened in him. Shere can hear the tiger's thoughts in his head, speaking to him in that slow, powerful and deep English accent. Shere can also turn into a Bengal tiger at will now that he is awakened.
DESCRIPTION: Shere Khan is awakened in Shere Caine. The tiger's plot in The Jungle Book was to kill the mancub Mowgli in revenge for the terrible things that humans do: he vowed to kill every human he sees. Though that enitre plot is not necessarily realistic for Shere Caine, Shere Khan has negotiated with him, settling for finding and killing Mowgli and only Mowgli (for now). But lately Shere Khan has been whispering to his human, planting ideas in his head about gaining power in this small town, and then surrounding towns, and, eventually, to become powerful enough to exact his revenge on all who have done wrong to animals and nature.
YOUR NAME: Kate

YOUR RP EXPERIENCE: About 10 years
YOUR SAMPLE: "ATTA GIRL!" Handy crowed, running around the central console of the TARDIS, alternately whacking the panels with a rubber mallet and patting them fondly. The TARDIS gave a happy sort of shudder and went on hurtling through the vortex, seemingly as thrilled to be traveling as he was. A brand new TARDIS, and brand new adventure, a brand new Doctor. Things were different, surely, not nearly as easy as things were before (and that's saying something). Handy felt more fragile now, like he was constantly walking on eggshells, because if this body got hurt... Well, this was his only shot, wasn't it? And this body had already aged so. Yes, things were different.
But that's why it was fun!
Handy gave another exuberant shout, throwing a cheerful fist in the air and skipping a step to the left to flick a switch or two. The smile on his face was infectious, evidently, for Rose didn't seem nearly as sullen as he'd seen her for the last few months while the TARDIS finished growing. She got right back into the swing of things, he'd noticed, like she'd never missed a step. That's why he'd loved her then. That's why he loved her now. She was fearless.
He beamed at her for a moment, smiling at her smile, laughing when she giggled. The TARDIS shuddered again and Handy returned his attention to the controls, one hand manipulating what looked like a calculator, the other tuning a needle to the right frequency. The interior glowed happily, sensing their elation. It had only been a year or so, waiting for the TARDIS to grow, and back then it had felt like an eternity passed. But now, aboard the ship again, no time could phase them. They all the time in the world. They had all the time in every world!
It was on this tidal wave of bubbly energy that they rode, in a sort of numbness that didn't let the danger or warning penetrate his brain. Not like he would have really listened to the warning bells even if they were sounding, considering he lived for adventure and discovery and all that exciting stuff. He couldn't help but grin a bit at the though again, when the TARDIS suddenly landed. Quite suddenly. Knock-you-off-your-feet suddenly.
Handy propped himself up on his elbows, looking up at the controls from where he fell. "That's not supposed to happen," he said quickly, picking himself up off the ground and circling the control unit in one fluid movement. "We're out in the middle of nowhere, nearest planet's miles away!" His brow furrowed and he checked the controls, looking between the calculator on the left panel and the screen on the right. "So how's..." he continued, talking mostly to himself, when he looked up, grinning. "Shall we go see what it is, then?"
He didn't wait for Rose to answer before making a quick dash for the doors. Precaution? What precaution? Handy threw open the left door and stepped outside...
Right into a battlefield.
