FLASH DAVID MCGAVIN
FULL NAME: Flash David Mcgavin
NICK NAME: Dave and much to his chagrin, his girlfriend, Melissa likes to call him Davie or Flashy.
AGE: 20
GRADE OR OCCUPATION: Works at the local sweet shop as a cashier. Works as a magician on the side.
ORIENTATION: Straight
FACE CLAIM: Keanu Reeves
EYE COLOR: Green
HAIR COLOR: Black
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: 5ft 5in. and 160 Lbs.
DESCRIPTION: Flash has short, black hair with green eyes. He is a Caucasian American who looks like he doesn’t get much sun. He tends to wear long sleeves even when it’s hot due to being so self-conscious of his looks. He is under this…self-created delusion that he is ugly despite the fact that he isn’t half bad looking. As a result, he wears heavy clothing in an effort to hide his looks. He also will not look in mirrors due to being dysmorphobic.
PERSONALITY: Flash is egotistical, paranoid and self-conscious. Hates those who are superficial and snobbish. He is also very superstitious. He cringes every time someone breaks a mirror, walks underneath a ladder, spills salt or if they open an umbrella inside. He is the type that believes in good/bad luck and feels insulted whenever nobody takes the whole luck thing seriously. Loves to be taken seriously and thrives on attention and being noticed. However, he does not like the way he looks, so he does not like to look at his reflection and covers himself up in long clothing even when it is hot.
HOMETOWN: A small town in Maine
FAMILY MEMBERS: His mom: A weapon specialist who works for the U.S military. The two get along great despite the fact she like her husband does not approve of Flash working as a magician seeing it as more of a hobby than as a job. She does not believe he will be able to make enough money performing magic for these small businesses he likes to perform for, which was why she approves of him going to this strange cartoon academy. But, Flash feels something is up and didn't want to go. His mom does not seem to pay too much attention to her son's protests and she and her husband made him go.
His dad: Owns his very own comic book store. A major comic book fanatic, his father decided to name their only son after his favorite childhood superhero, Flash, and thus why Flash was named that. From a very early age, Flash's dad tried to get him into comic books (a very odd move for a parent) despite his son's apparent dislike for comics, calling them childish, immature pieces of junk that nerds read. However, what his father doesn't know is that Flash actually likes to read comics during his time off, so his dad's ploy did work. The really funny thing is whenever Flash goes to his father's comic book shop for a new comic, he always acts like he is getting it for someone else and acts totally uninterested in reading anything there. However, when nobody is around, he reads comics like crazy. He is just too proud to admit liking them. Flash's favorite superheroes are The Punisher and Batman.
Melissa Watts: Is currently Flash’s girlfriend and high school sweetheart. He knew her since elementary school and the two have been close friends ever since despite Flash’s guy friends always teasing him about hanging out with a girl.
HISTORY: Flash is the only kid born to his mom and dad. However, he was not spoiled and was expected to get a job in his teenaged years in order to pay for things. As a teen Flash worked at a local videostore refusing to help his father out in his comic book store due to his own pride. Flash's favorite movie genre was horror and enjoyed staying up all night watching old horror movies with his two best friends: Melissa and Leo. They are the only ones who knew Flash liked comic books as much as his own father. When they found him out, they promised not to tell anyone even though they thought it a silly secret. As a kid and teen, Flash was often picked on by the older kids often calling him a nerd amongst other things. As a result, Flash feels it necessary to hide his more "nerdish" likes. Annoyed with Flash's pacifist attitude, his friends stuck up for him. No matter what he tries to do, Flash always seems to get in trouble with the bullies.
Other than reading comic books, Flash developed another interest: magic. It all started when Flash started watching magicians on T.V. Immediately interested and dazzled by their performance, Flash rented and bought magic books to teach himself magic. After a lot of practicing, Flash slowly got good at it. It certainly seemed he had a natural affinity for magic. When the school talent show came around, Flash entered with his magic tricks like the famous illusion of pulling a rabbit out of a hat. He got second place, losing to an older kid named, Jafar much to Flash’s annoyance. Jafar was another aspiring magician who merely looked at Flash’s illusions and muttered in a bored drawl, “nice trick kid. You do birthday parties too?”
DISNEY CHARACTER: Iago from Aladdin
ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTES: Flash is a fast talking aspiring magician. He is smart and clever and like Iago he seems to have a knack for magical items and artifacts, making him a competent magician. While he is not too clumsy, he does find himself running into things whenever he is trying to impress someone.
DESCRIPTION: Flash is somewhat similar to Iago personality wise. For example, like Iago Flash comes off as sarcastic and a jokester even though not everyone finds his jokes funny. In fact, he even sometimes mimics others in a joking manner and like Iago he is able to capture their voice exactly. He is also sneaky and deceptive at times. Unlike, Iago Flash isn't too greedy.
Although, once Flash discovers who his Disney character is, he’ll be far too proud to admit it. As of now, Flash has no idea who his Disney character is and even suspects this whole having him come to this…odd school is a scam. He scoffs at the idea that there is a Disney character lurking within, just waiting to be awakened and passes the idea off as ridiculous! However, when he finally discovers the truth, he will be able to shift into a small red parrot with blue tail feathers.
YOUR NAME: Heather
YOUR AGE: 24
YOUR RP EXPERIENCE: 2 ½ years
YOUR SAMPLE: A whistling figure in a long blue shirt and matching blue pants wearing yellow cleaning gloves could be seen in the school’s coffee shop mopping. This figure was the school’s new janitor or was he? This…new ‘janitor’s’ name is Mike Dalton who was simply known as a blocker. Why? Because he had the amazing ability to resist gifteds with mind powers. No matter how hard they try, these gifteds are unable to read his mind, tap into his memories or hypnotize him. Not only that, but he could also unlock doors using his mind. These abilities certainly made him the perfect detective since if he ever got captured by an enemy agent, they would be unable to tap into his mind.
Yes, Mike was no janitor, but really an undercover detective hired by the school to investigate its students’ disappearances. On the surface, he had a good rep as a detective as his employers recommend the school hire him, that he was trustworthy. However in reality, the detective was anything, but honest. He had this little problem when it came to lying. He just can’t seem to help himself. He was no criminal, but he seemed to have...trouble telling the whole truth. On a number of occasions, Mike would break into a suspect's house and...steal incriminating evidence claiming to have a search warrant when he really didn't. Thing was Mike was good at being deceptive and sneaky and so he has yet to get caught. The guy just knew how to lie well. He actually practiced keeping his breathing and heart rate consistent while lying, so not arise any suspicion.
But, Mike had a lighter side in him too and this side was determined to see justice done no matter what. This side made him appear older than he really was. So naturally, he volunteered to investigate the series of disappearances. The school didn’t want its students to worry, so they didn’t mention they had a cop living amongst them. In fact, they told Mike to not reveal himself to the students just yet, which was why he cleverly disguised himself as a janitor. Problem was, he wasn’t very good at cleaning things as he kept leaving pools of water behind.
