AMBERS DUSTY TAYLOR
FULL NAME: Ambers Dusty Taylor
NICK NAME: Dust, Beer, Amby
AGE: Seventeen
GRADE: Classic Academy Senior
ORIENTATION: Pansexual; Tapestry Fetish (won't necessarily admit this)
FACE CLAIM: Jamie Campbell Bower
EYE COLOR: Blue
HAIR COLOR: Dirty blond/brown (often dyes his hair)
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: 5'6" and 125 lbs.
DESCRIPTION: This person is very androgynous. At first glance, one would be lucky to guess at male or female. Ambers' build is quite thin, his shoulders not nearly as broad as many men but slightly moreso than most women. He is otherwise rather scrawny. His hair is naturally brown with some little blond highlights. He often dyes his hair to accent this bit of blond, but doesn't always keep up on it, resulting in blond tips on a regular basis. His eyes are blue and almost always wandering.
His complexion is fairly pale, due to not being outside all that often. Also a result of not going out much is a very minimal bit of muscle. His hands, however, are rather callous due to nearly-constant gaming and several attempts at playing multiple instruments over the years. He tends to wear baggy clothes, but sometimes wears tighter pants. He prefers blues, greens, and darker clothing to white or other bright colors. Hats are often in his repertoire as well, but sometimes he'll just put his hair in a ponytail.
PERSONALITY: Dust is a calm, but curious person. He's quiet (but that has more to do with his muteness than wanting to be) and doesn't like to cause problems. In fact, avoiding issues and confrontations is what he really aims to do. If he finds anyone in a fight, he'll try to subdue both sides, though this is sometimes difficult when he is rather weak and can't talk to them. He usually tries to stick to the rules, but only if the consequences are particularly negative.
He looks at all strangers as potential friends and unless they've done him wrong in some fashion, he tends to either ignore them altogether or give them the benefit of the doubt and explain what they've done to upset him. Ambers is quick to forgive, however, and as long as he feels they're sincere, will give them another chance. Around people he already considers friends, he's a bit of a troublemaker but definitely more of a follower than a leader.
HOMETOWN: Riverside, California
FAMILY MEMBERS: Mother, father, and brother.
HISTORY: Ambers was born mute. His vocal cords simply didn't develop correctly and his lack of crying did actually worry his parents and doctors at first. They quickly realized that he was crying, however, but silently. This made things difficult growing up, for him and his family. To support the family, both parents had to work after their maternity and paternity leaves ended (his father was lucky to be given this). As a result, his language skills were lacking. Thankfully, they were able to find a caretaker that could teach him sign language and they began to teach themselves as well in their spare time.
One year, as a birthday gift from his grandparents, he was given an electronic notepad. He could type in it and it would say the words aloud. Being that this was expensive, it was a joint gift and he didn't get much else that year. With this, he was able to really attend public school with less problems than would otherwise show up. He made friends rather easily, particularly because many of the kids simply thought his gadget was "cool" and liked to hear it talk. But some students were generally interested in the boy.
Once he started his way through middle school, however, things started to get a bit strange. Now, more than friends, he had bullies. Although he was altogether able to disregard their teasing of his lack of voice, he couldn't ignore the shoving and other such things. One day, they shoved him off a small outcropping outside the school and broke his notebook. Assuming he was going to end up hurt by the eight-foot-or-so drop, he had cringed. But when he hit the ground, after quite a while longer than he anticipated, he just got a couple light bumps on his rear and head.
While he was able to replace his gadget (even the second time they broke it), he was unsure of what to make of his ability to float, as he began to refer to it as. His parents mostly disregarded his claims as simple luck, but he knew it wasn't just that. Still, no one believed him so he stopped talking about it. Dusty went through a couple years of high school after this before receiving his letter from Memory. He was highly confused by such a thing and his parents were skeptical. After much talk and research about the place, they agreed upon giving him a two-way ticket and if he found anything strange, he was to come straight home.
Well... to say he didn't find anything strange was quite the lie. But it was not the kind of strange he'd expected. He'd almost thought that this was some ploy from the government or something, who'd finally noticed his floating claims in some old, dusty files, and decided he needed to be dissected. Instead, he found a rather happy, relaxed town filled with people that had strange powers. He'd only glimpsed a few of these said powers by the time he got to the school which he was to attend, but then he got the class list. "Awakening the Spirit Within"? What?
Needless to say, he took his junior year of high school at Classic Academy and it was at least pointed out who his spirit likely was. Carpet... A freaking magic carpet? This didn't impress the teen in the least, but by the time school ended for the year, he'd kind of grown on the idea. He'd researched more about this "Carpet" and realized he was actually rather interesting. Now he just had to prove that the speculation was correct... by awakening this spirit. That's his main focus in his senior year.
DISNEY CHARACTER: Carpet from Aladdin
ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTES: Flight, loyal, helpful.
DESCRIPTION: Carpet is not yet awakened in Ambers, but the teen already has a similar outlook on things. Once the spirit is awakened, Dust will be able to slowly learn to fly. His body is not the same shape, obviously, and he weighs more than Carpet, so it won't be so simple. Otherwise, he will likely focus even more on being there for his friends and keeping people out of trouble while still helping them toward their goals.

YOUR SAMPLE:
As she listened, Ruka actually got a bit exasperated. Had she not just said things took effort? Of course it wasn’t easy… Then he continued on and she felt her heart break just the slightest bit. A brother who literally couldn’t stand to be around him? What had happened that caused that? When the picture was handed to her, she looked it over and smiled faintly. They looked like they were enjoying each others company. She didn’t dare ask anything about them, worried she might drudge up more memories.
Then he began to ask a question and she looked up before glancing at the bird. ”Yes... Show him you’re interested. I mean... I talk to Pokemon I don’t even necessarily plan on capturing. It just shows them that not all humans are bad people.” She smiled at the Rufflet before adding, ”I don’t have any other Pokemon from the same egg group and I doubt I’d spend a lot of time with him, so I wouldn’t want to just leave him at home all the time.” It was then she actually realized what the Togetic was and giggled slightly at its antics. She’d be slightly more interested in him if her Happiny and Clefairy were evolved, but at the moment, she seemed to let him be. She was honestly rather worried about her other Pokemon.
Chiharu shuddered at the realization of what they’d followed and just gave an uncertain smile at the large eagle-like bird. Both Pokemon made a point not to bump the poor blackbird and watched the Zubat fly away from the light. As the Illumise heard the call for a mother, her attention flicked to the other two Pokemon. Aw... poor Vullaby. Fluttering over, she landed by the Druddigon and smiled. <Um... Hello there. I see you’re having a little bit of difficulty. Maybe my trainer can help the two of you? She’s two stories down... I don’t know if the Vullaby will unattach from you long enough to get her down, but if you’ll come along, too...?> It was clear she was rather nervous, but she wanted to help.
