MAYA LUCILLE APPLEBY
FULL NAME: Maya Lucille Appleby
NICK NAME: Just Maya.
AGE: 21
GRADE OR OCCUPATION: College student/Model
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
ALLIANCE: Villain
FACE CLAIM: Kaya Scodelario
EYE COLOR: Gray-blue
HAIR COLOR: Dark brown
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: 5'9, 133
DESCRIPTION: Maya is a slender and tall girl for her age, but it fits her well. She has messy dark brown hair that is almost black and that she prefers to put up in a messy sort of updo. Like her Disney character, she has very pale skin and shocking eyes, hers are a cloudy gray blue, that are usually glaring. She has a long neck and an angular jawline. Maya likes to dress up, even when the occasion doesn't call for it. She can certainly afford the clothes she chooses. She also has a tendency to wear a small gold tiara-like crown, particularly when the Evil Queen inside begins to show herself.
PERSONALITY: Maya is a person who commands the attention of the people around her, even without speaking. While her striking looks certainly contribute to this phenomenon, it is more her commanding presence that gains her attention. Maya is power hungry and enjoys being in control of people. She is a leader instead of a follower. Some would say that Maya is vain above all else. She cares a lot about her appearance and how others perceive her. If she feels threatened in the slightest by someone else, she turns defensive and haughty. This said, Maya almost never becomes completely angry. She prefers to tease and pick on her competitor, winning the battle if she succeeds in infuriating him or her while remaining completely calm herself. Being calm is another one of her personality traits, and Maya will often seem to show no emotion at all if she can help it. Though many see Maya as a mean person, which is in many cases true, inside she is mostly angry and distrusting of not just the world, but the people in it. Maya can be nice, but this usually shows only with children and small animals or with people she takes a particular liking to. She wants children to have a better childhood than she did, but she'll never admit it. She also doesn't like showing fear, and there are very few cases where she will.
HOMETOWN: Los Angeles, California
FAMILY MEMBERS: _____ Appleby, sister (I'm hoping for a Snow White to join), George Appleby, father, Julia Reid, stepmother.
HISTORY: Maya was born as the eldest of two daughters in the city of Los Angeles. From the day she was born her parents knew she was different, but that was not necessarily what they wanted. For one thing, Maya's mother, Sarah, died during labor. Maya claims that this is where her father's disapproval of her stems from. Two years later, George remarried to a certain Julia Reid, and a year after that, Maya's stepsister was born.
Any bystander would deny Maya's claim of a classic evil stepmother childhood, and really it wasn't exactly like that. Julia and George were nice enough, to be sure, friends even remarked that before Sarah's death she and George had been the happiest couple around, just not specifically to Maya. Her parents doted on the baby of the family, Maya's sister, and either criticized or completely ignored Maya. While no one can be sure of the reasons for this, it is plausible that Julia valued her own daughter above her stepdaughter and George was either still bitter about the death of Sarah or simply aiming to please his new wife.
Or maybe it was simply the sheer amount of difference between the two girls. Maya's younger sister was sweet and kind, accepting everyone immediately for who they were. She had perfect grades, loved animals, and was friends with everyone. Maya couldn't stand her. Well, maybe there was a point where she could, but her hatred only developed as her parents' love grew. Maya herself was more introverted, dark-humored, and interested in things like science and experimentation. She never talked much and her grades certainly weren't the best. As much as she tried to keep up with her sister's social and academic prowess, she simply couldn't.
The thing Maya hated most about her sister was that no matter how many snide remarks or rude comments Maya threw in her direction, she never fought back. The one-sided arguments simply infuriated the young girl, and eventually she stopped trying.
Maya was seven years old when she discovered her fascination with royalty, queens in particular. The amount of power they held in their fingertips, decisions to make over the expansive land they ruled, was captivating to the young girl. She would play with her dolls, choosing one to be herself, the doll who was supposed to look like a princess, and others to be her family, taking turns sending them to dungeons and banishing them from her kingdom. She also had a special mirror where her doll would admire itself daily.
During Maya's awkward pre-teen years, she was pretty much the definition of a social outcast. She didn't where the right clothes, she was awkwardly tall and gangly and wore huge glasses that covered almost half of her face. The other girls and boys in her class would tease her about her appearance, the way she talked, and just the way she presented herself. It was when the teasing started that she discovered Queenie, or the Evil Queen inside of her. The Evil Queen wanted to take Maya's bad thoughts and multiply them by a thousand. Instead of simply ignoring the problem or confronting someone angrily, the Evil Queen preferred to get that person out of the way. Or kill them. Maya received her letter from Memory, Maine, shortly after and incident where a particularly rowdy young fifth grader in her class was found dead in his bedroom, the core of an apple having been thrown haphazardly across the floor.
Shortly after arriving in Memory, Maya discovered the Queen's power to transform herself. As she got better at it, she could become a woman of any age, yet to the trained eye her different forms always slightly resembled her true one. Maya and the Evil Queen completely abused this power, she could get almost anything she wanted when she was someone else. However, as she grew older she learned to use it more sparingly.
DISNEY CHARACTER: Evil Queen (Snow White)
ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTES: Maya can change her appearance into any other female human. She's particularly good with witches. For regular occasions however, she usually stays in her true form. She also has a decent supply of poison apples, and of course the means to make more.
DESCRIPTION: Generally, the Evil Queen doesn't really get along with Maya. They have the same sort of thoughts, but the Evil Queen would rather poison someone than confront them, which would be Maya's usual method. At first, she was able to maintain control over what she said and did, but as time goes on, the Evil Queen is starting to control more and more of Maya's life.
Right now, the Evil Queen's main goal is to kill Snow White, or in this case the girl who embodies Snow White. She generally gets what she wants, as Maya's own will is weak in comparison. The Evil Queen also despises anyone she thinks is prettier than her, or anyone who insults her own beauty.

YOUR RP EXPERIENCE:
YOUR SAMPLE: Lucy hated the beach. All these happy, hopeless fools just didn’t get it, did they? No, they had no idea how many sharks might be swimming in the water with them, circling and diving around the sunburnt ankles, those stupid tourists. They had no idea of the likeliness of a thunderstorm or a coconut falling off one of those trees. Lucy glanced up at the palm tree, suddenly curious. How did it support itself? So spindly and bendy, its sinewy trunk stretching upwards towards the glaring sun which Lucy had been trying desperately to protect herself from. This made sense, plants moved towards sunlight, it was... what they were supposed to do, you know, phototropism. Yet these skinny palm trees carried a world of leaves and coconuts on their little shoulders.
As she thought about it, lying on her back, caught in a trance, staring up at the trees, Lucy found that she herself was quite like these palm trees. Barely fifteen, cruel fate had thrown a different world upon her pale shoulders, and that fate was responsibility.
Lucy’s parents had died in what the orphanage owner had called a “dreadful tragedy”. Lucy didn’t think about it. She thought about the future. In her mind, wasting time on the past go one nowhere. Her younger sibling, James, was six and totally and completely incorrigible. And now that they had successfully escaped that hellhole of an orphanage, where better to go than the beach? A lot of places were better. Lucy could think of a million better places off of the top of her head that would be more safe and secluded than this dirty, crowded, hot beach, but James was the coconut and as the weary palm tree she must carry him on her shoulders. And the riley coconut had decided, against the sensible palm tree’s better judgement, that the only acceptable place to spend this fine sweltering afternoon was there.
