SITUATIONS ARE IRRELVANT NOW , THE FRUSTRATION, IT'S A REGULAR THING !
Today was a sunny, bright day. Eric O'Connor got himself out of bed and into the shower in hope that today was going to just be amazing. He took a quick, five minute shower and quickly put some jeans on and then a nice, blue-collard shirt. He slipped some black converse on and headed out the apartment door. He walked down the streets of Memory trying to figure out a place to go. He had only been here for a few years and knew around zero people. Sure, when he went grocery shopping, he would talk to the cashier, and in school he would talk to his fellow classmates, but he wasn't really 'friends' with anyone; just more along the lines of 'aquatences'. He didn't exactly mind, but then again, he felt bored most of the time just wondering the streets trying to find something to do, like right now.
He eventually ended up at the park. He saw little kids running around, as well as a group of teenagers just sitting on benches and tables and discussing things. They looked to be around his age, but he didn't know any of them and he didn't feel like putting himself in the middle of whatever they may of been talking about. He usually ended up walking in on the weirdest part of the conversation anyways. He walked along the path through the woods and back to the main part of the park. He quickly grew bored and he went over to the playground part of the park. He plopped down on a swing set and just began to swing. Sure, it was a little kid thing to do, but the swing set could never grow out of anyone's life. It was just too much fun.
Back in Ireland, his sister, Cara, and him would see who could jump the farthest. Now, there had been a few times where they ended up with bruises from jumping and landing on something they shouldn't have, but it was worth it. Even with his friends from school, they still did that. His soccer buddies and him were all super competitive and made everything into a contest. Usually the loser had to go talk to a random person in the park depending on the day. Just because they were competitive doesn't mean they had to be cruel. The winner usually got a dollar from each of the losers. Sweet deal if you asked him.
Thinking back to the good old days, he began to become homesick. He missed his mother and his sister dearly, but with all the craziness of having a 'spirit' inside him, he had forgot about them most the time. He found it sickening and needed to call them, or mail them, or something. What he needed to do was go visit them. His mom would wire him the money like she always did and he'd go fly back for a quick trip. However, he hated riding the plane alone. Such a long flight. Then again, he hated to be alone in general.

Wandering along the street, Arielle sighed as she blew her fiery bangs out of her face. She had just gotten a box of new antiques for her shop today, and her inner spirit was quite pleased with the selection. Seeing as her spirit was Ariel, the little mermaid herself, the redhead had always been fascinated by older pieces and had collected them for years. This fascination led to Arielle opening the shop after her spirit awakened.
Nowadays she gets a call when more antiques have been collected for her, and she'll go right over to pick it up. It was a simple life, but she enjoyed it, and it kept Ariel happy, so that was a plus. It was hard these days to keep Ariel happy, the spirit was feeling restless. All Arielle heard about from the mermaid was all about this man named Eric. Arielle knew the story of The Little Mermaid and since she knew it so well because of her spirit, Ariel's restlessness was making her even worse.
It was times like these that Arielle wanted to talk to her father, but with the time difference between here and Denmark made things a lot harder. Her father worked all the time at home and her sisters had spread out throughout the world so Arielle felt rather alone these days.
Carrying the box along, Arielle felt herself being drawn to the park. Well, whatever it was, she could make a small detour on her way back to her store. The redhead raised an eyebrow as she spotted a boy who seemed to be a year older than her on a swing set. Something was pulling her towards him, but she didn't really know what it was.
Placing her box down on a bench nearby so that she could see it, the girl tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and walked up to him. Quite daring for Arielle, but she was feeling extra confident today. He seemed familiar, if that made any sense, but there was just something about him... "Hey, mind if I join you?"

SITUATIONS ARE IRRELVANT NOW , THE FRUSTRATION, IT'S A REGULAR THING ! The brown-haired boy was getting bored with swinging. It was fun and all, but to be the fun it had once been, there needed to be another person there to talk to. It just wasn't as much fun by yourself; then again, usually things were more fun with other people. He sighed and began to slow the swing down by dragging his feet along the woodchips. Once the swing had stopped, he got up and strechted out his back. The only downfall to swinging for so long was that your legs started to cramp up and you back hurt when you stood up straight. He dusted off the front of his shoes and sat back down. He placed his hands in his lap and looked around the park.
Nothing had changed really, except someone new had entered the park. She had bright red hair, skin basically as light as his, and from what he could tell, blue eyes. He felt like he was staring, so he looked up at the sky. Clear day today. He casually looked back down and saw that she had set a box down and was walking over towards him. He messed with his hair and did that whole stretch his arms up to see if he smelled. Nope. Everything was fresh since he had only taken a shower about fifteen or twenty minutes ago. He tried to act cool while she was walking over to him. He began to swing low as she was getting closer and closer to him. Once she had arrived, she asked if she could join him.
Eric stopped the swing completely, "Not at all," he said in his apparent Irish accent. He looked over the girl a little more that she wasn't so far away. His assumption on her eyes were true. They stood out from anything else about her. He felt like he was staring again and looked in his lap. His thumbs twiddled as he waited for her to sit down. What to say? Oh, his name perhaps? "And my name is Eric, by the way." He wasn't sure why this girl made him nervous all of a sudden. She was cute though, but even back in Ireland, he would always say his name first. What was so different about this girl?

"Not at all,"
Hearing a slight Irish accent, Arielle felt herself smile. She missed hearing accents around town. When she was little all she heard all different kinds of accents, Irish was an accent she heard most often.
Feeling him watching her, the girl turned a slight pink in the face and sat down on the swing next to him. After a moment or two she felt him stop staring and look at his lap, giving her the opportunity to get a good look at him. He seemed to have dark hair (black or brown she couldn't tell, most likely black) and she noted his blue eyes when she talked to him earlier. The fact that he was familiar was getting on her nerves and she started to feel that churning in the pit of her stomach when Ariel wanted to take over and see for herself. "No, don't even think about it the girl thought to the spirit, causing Ariel to scoff impatiently in her head and the girl felt the mermaid was now listening into the conversation.
"And my name is Eric, by the way."
"ERIC?! ERIC?! OH MY GOD THAT'S WHY HE'S FAMILIAR! THAT'S MY ERIC!" Ariel flailed in the redhead's mind, causing her host to wince lightly. Arielle coughed lightly to try and calm the mermaid and smiled sheepishly at the boy. "Sorry... Headache. It's nice to meet you Eric, my name's Arielle. Friends call me Ariel, but that's not much of a nickname," she answered, mentally turning to the mermaid who was still freaking out. "We don't know that's your Eric. For all we know that's a boy with the same name."
"He looks JUST like him though!"
"We're not repeating the Flounder incident!" Arielle answered quickly, causing the mermaid to finally calm down. Finally! She listens! That was embarrassing when she kept going up to every blonde boy in Memory and wondering if they were Flounder. Awkward.

SITUATIONS ARE IRRELVANT NOW , THE FRUSTRATION, IT'S A REGULAR THING ! This girl seemed nice, but quiet. She sat down and she seemed to be, occupied with a thought. Could she have a spirit in her as well? He wasn't sure if everyone had one in this town or not, but perhaps her spirit was bugging her about something. Hello? he heard inside his head. He didn't want to make a scene, so he shut his eyes and tried to focus a little more on the voice. Hello? he responded back. He waited for a few moments and couldn't hear the voice say anything after that. He felt the look of disappointment on his face and went back to the girl. Maybe the voice would speak up more if he talked to other people with spirits. Is that how this whole thing works? It was worth a shot. Just getting 'hellos' and other blurbs were beginning to get on his nerves quite a bit. He wasn't sure why his spirit hadn't yet awakened when basically everone else's has.
Once she got back to him, she said she had a headache and introduced herself as Arielle. or Ariel. One just sounded longer and more drawn out, but he'd call her by her actual name until they got to know one another better, if they'd ever speak again. All of a sudden, he got a sharp pain in his head. He looked up towards the sky to try and let the expression out without worrying the girl. Can you hear me? The voice again. It sounded deep, like a fully grown male. Yes I can hear you. Who are you? Nothing. He closed his eyes, sighed, and then looked at the girl once again. Well, that's the first sentence he's ever formed, and he could tell that it was a full adult male voice at least. It's better than just static like it used to be.
"So, how long have you been here?" he asked. He liked talking to people, but this voice thing was giving him a God awful headache right about now. If this is what it felt like for when the spirits talked to their hosts, he gives up. No more. He looked down and back at the girl, he almost asked if she knew anything about how to make the spirits more present and if you had a headache every time they tried to communicate with you.

The redhead watched him carefully, taking note of all his expressions and how he seemed to be getting a headache as well. Ariel started bouncing around in her brain as her host started putting two and two together and the girl had to smack herself lightly to get her spirit to calm down. It was pretty obvious that he had a spirit inside him, but she wasn't going to let Ariel get all excited if it wasn't Eric. That was something she didn't want to live through once again.
"So, how long have you been here?"
Arielle raised an eyebrow at the boy but soon figured out what he meant. "Oh! I've been here for about... Only a year or two actually. It feels longer since I graduated the Academy and didn't have to go to the local college because I... Exceeded expectations..." she answered carefully. If he had a spirit inside him, he'd know what she meant by that and hopefully they could start to talk about what the heck was going on.
She knew from experience that it was better to know someone who was in the same situation as you were. It was hard to be in this situation, and it was harder to be in it alone. She had heard horror stories from others that went through this alone and they took forever to find their spirits and who they were supposed to be with. If this boy was really Prince Eric, then she'd have to help him or Ariel wouldn't leave her alone to save her life. She knew how much her spirit was in love with the prince, and it didn't help that he was probably the boy sitting only a few feet away from her. Feeling Ariel give her brain another hard nudge, the girl winced from her headache. Shaking her head lightly to try and get Ariel to calm down, she finally broke down. "Alright. This is a weird question, and PLEASE don't look at me funny after I ask you. Do you happen to have a spirit inside you? A lot of people around here do... Including me, but my spirit is going bananas and won't leave me alone, and she hasn't done that before so I'm guessing there's a reason for it..."

SITUATIONS ARE IRRELVANT NOW , THE FRUSTRATION, IT'S A REGULAR THING ! She said that she's only been here a year or two. That's shorter than he had been. She said that she graduated from the Academy and didn't have to go to the college because she exceeded their expectations. He tried to think of the possibilities. She got her spirit out already? Probably the most likely answer around this place. "That's cool. I've been here since about sophomore or junior year of high school, so maybe four-ish years. I have to go to the college because, well, you can probably guess the rest."
He felt like a failure after she told him that she didn't have to go to the college. He didn't mind that much though. Maybe she could help him out more now. Her face seemed to blush a little and kind of just came out with a question. If he had a spirit inside him. She said her's wouldn't leave her alone for some reason. "Actually, I do. However, I have no clue who it is. I get little hellos and static now and then, but nothing more. But, it seems like talking to you has helped it out a bit. I can tell that the voice is kind of grown-up man-like. And he actually spoke a sentence a minute ago. A lot more than usual." He didn't know what this girl's reaction was going to be, but hopefully it wasn't going to be just to get up and walk away.

"That's cool. I've been here since about sophomore or junior year of high school, so maybe four-ish years. I have to go to the college because, well, you can probably guess the rest."
"Oh don't worry about it. I know what you mean. I know a lot of people who needed to go to college actually, so no need to feel bad," she answered quickly, seeing his distraught look upon his face and she felt bad. The girl watched him closely as he seemed to process her long, rambling question and answer her.
"Actually, I do. However, I have no clue who it is. I get little hellos and static now and then, but nothing more. But, it seems like talking to you has helped it out a bit. I can tell that the voice is kind of grown-up man-like. And he actually spoke a sentence a minute ago. A lot more than usual."
Arielle's eyes widened and she felt her eyebrow raise. Wincing lightly as Ariel started yelling at her again in her head about how this was definitely her Eric. "Jeezus. Stupid mermaid," she murmured, rubbing her temples and looking back up to Eric.
"Sorry. She won't stop screaming. It's getting on my nerves," she smiled sheepishly, scratching her head lightly and taking a deep breath before she turned her swing so that she could face him. Taking a deep breath, the girl started fiddling with her hands as she tried to figure out the best way to tell him about this. Eh. Well he seems alright with how crazy she is right now, and maybe Prince Eric will chime in if she was just upfront with him. With another sigh and a smack to her head to get Ariel to shut it, she looked him in the eye and continued. "Ariel. My spirit. Seems to think that yours is the match to her. If that makes sense... She's going bananas and trying to get me to let her take over and I really don't want her to freak you out because she does that... Does he have any idea who he is in there?" she pointed to Eric's forehead for effect at that last question. "I'd really like to know so I can get her to shut up and make my migrane go away... If not, I am SO sorry and if so.... Well, we can deal with that when we get to it."
